STS Technical Services is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller for a full-time, on-site position in Savannah, Georgia. The Controller will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving process improvements across the organization. This role requires strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of GAAP, and proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial management within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. Primary Functions Oversight and responsibility for financial reporting, internal controls, treasury management, tax planning, insurance management, and external audits Ensure that reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Management Lead and optimize all accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with GAAP Directly responsible for accounting for day-to-day operations of accounting functions, including GL, AP, AR, and month-, quarter-, and year-end close Financial Reporting Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP Prepare journal entries as necessary and manage the period close responsibility checklist Monitor financial performance, analyze results, and recommend corrective actions Treasury and Cash Management Prepare monthly and year-to-date cash flow statements Prepare and review bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations Audit Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure compliance with GAAP Develop internal audit procedures and oversee ongoing internal audit activities Manage and support annual insurance audits Tax Manage tax return filing process in accordance with state guidelines for all sales / use and property taxes Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 5+ years of progressive responsibility Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Proficiency with accounting and financial reporting systems Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment Willingness to work occasional weekends or evenings as needed Why Join STS Technical Services?
