The Newport Beach Public Library Services Department seeks a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the team as a Librarian III. The selected individual will support Circulation Services with an emphasis on administrative duties, the day-to-day operational responsibilities of the Circulation department, and customer service.

SELECTION COMPONENTS :

• Application Evaluation : Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis with the first review date of August 6, 2025 a t 5 : 00 p.m. or at 150 applications - whichever occurs first . Candidates are required to submit a resume in order for the application package to be considered complete.
• Virtual Interview : Tentatively scheduled for August 20, 2025 . Passing applicants will be placed on an eligibility list that may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.

Experience & Education and License / Certificate

A combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be :

Experience : Four years of increasingly responsible professional library experience, including two years of supervisory responsibility.

Education : Possession of a Master's degree in Library Service from an American Library Association accredited college or university.

License / Certificate : Due to the performance of some field duties which require the operation of a personal or City vehicle, a valid and appropriate California driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.
