WTIC FOX61 is looking for a dynamic Sports Executive Producer to redefine how local sports are covered. The days of just producing sports highlights and stats are over. This is about sports journalism... telling the stories of athletes, coaches, fans and parents. The perfect candidate will possess TV and Sports leadership experience, a commitment to success, and a desire to mentor and offer regular feedback to the team. Our team strives for growth, and we seek a leader who shares this ambition. As the Sports Executive Producer, you will work closely with our Sports MSJs to create captivating shows for both TV and FOX61 + streaming, and explore new methods of presenting audience-focused sports content that aligns with the needs of our community.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and execute long-term sports strategy
• Work with team to focus on Sports journalism
• Focus on sports storytelling and developing various sports streaming shows
• Train, develop, and coach the sports team with a focus on mentoring content creators across all platforms
• Oversee the on-air execution and provide coaching and showcasing techniques
• Review, approve scripts, and provide writing / copy editing to ensure accuracy and quality
• Participate in coordinating all aspects of coverage, from enterprise story production and specials
• Ensure the sports coverage meets our brand, policies, values, and FCC rules
• Help news coverage as needed, especially during breaking news
• Work with newsroom management to establish goals and further develop our local brand
