“A Day in the Life”

Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Ability to determine appropriate welding process. Cuts, grinds, shapes, and moves materials to be welded or fabricated. Ensures the highest possible quality is performed on work provided.

“What You’ll Do”

  • Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding technique
  • Operate and assist with programming or setup of robotic welding arms used in the fabrication process
  • Grinding, cutting, and shaping materials to be fabricated or welded
  • Operates machinery associated with welding and manufacturing of modular buildings
  • Inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, and performs welds, and maintains welding equipment
  • Maintain inventory, tools, supplies and work area in an organized manner
  • Operate both plasma and flame cutting torch
  • Perform other duties as assigned

    • “Must Haves”

  • Knowledge of codes and industry standards applicable to work performed
  • Good at establishing clear directions and lays out work in a well-planned and organized manner. Monitors process, progress and results.
  • Be able to read and understand floor plans and work orders for projects
  • Able to work outside in variable weather conditions
  • Ability to use both manual and power tools
  • Ability to use mathematics to calculate length, width, depth, etc. as it relates to construction and accuracy of specs and requirements
  • Ability to follow written and spoken instruction
  • Ability to safely perform tasks

    • “Nice to Haves”

  • Experience working in environments that use automated or robotic welding technology
  • Maintains current certification through industry standard agency or process
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in the construction industry performing welding and commercial welding new construction and remodel construction required
  • Able to read Company’s construction documents (provided in English) and provide guidance to construction team to complete necessary work; fluency in spoken Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge of LEAN construction a plus

    • Special Considerations :

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to carry, bend, stoop, turn, kneel, crawl, climb a ladder and other manual labor activities
