Join Kleinfelder Construction Services as a Roadway Inspector!

Kleinfelder Construction Services is hiring experienced Roadway Inspectors for Caltrans projects across San Diego County . In this role, you’ll perform quality assurance inspections on roadway and highway improvement projects, ensuring compliance with project plans and safety standards.

This position includes a company-assigned field vehicle and gas card , allowing you to travel directly to construction sites. Flexibility for extended shifts and night work is required.

Key Responsibilities :

• Conduct and document quality assurance inspections of roadway construction under the direction of the Resident Engineer.
• Interpret and enforce project plans, specifications, and codes to ensure compliance.
• Prepare detailed Daily Inspection Reports , including progress photos.
• Measure, calculate, track, and record pay quantities for monthly estimates.
• Maintain and update field as-built drawings .
• Champion a culture of safety , ensuring all work complies with safety rules and policies.
• Assist the Resident Engineer with change orders, RFIs, submittals, response letters, and construction documentation .
