Data Governance Manager
Suffolk is scaling its Data and AI team to deliver real-time, predictive insights across all phases of the build lifecycle. To enable the vision, we are seeking a hands-on Data Governance Manager who can stand up and run the frameworks, tooling, and rituals that keep our data discoverable, trusted, secure, and compliant, while freeing our data engineering team to move fast. You will be the go-to owner for catalog, lineage, quality, security & privacy controls, and master data stewardship, ensuring every data product meets Suffolk's strategic targets for reliability, availability, and semantic interoperability.
Responsibilities
Expand and maintain enterprise data catalog, lineage & semantic layer
- Deploy and maintain data catalog across Databricks, lead further deployment of the semantic layer
- Curate business and technical metadata across all departments, facilitate the development of metadata that enhances Large Language Model (LLM) comprehension and accuracy when interfacing with Suffolk's data warehouse and semantic layer, enabling AI-driven use cases such as natural language querying and summarization
- Lead scaling of the Master data (Project, Vendor, Budget, People etc.) and golden record rules
Implement automated data-quality & reliability controls
Operationalize security & privacy by design for analytical data stack
Build model & AI governance framework
Drive adoption & data literacy

Working Conditions
