Ensure the safety of students is considered when implementing programs and activities. Ensure program space / area is organized and cleaned during and after use. Provide guidance, affirm positive behavior and act as a role model and mentor to youth. Provide a safe environment through active supervision, setting clear expectations and maintaining clean program areas. Never leave members unsupervised and implement and follow School behavioral guidelines. Ensure a productive work environment by participating in staff meetings as required by supervisor or senior staff. Maintain a good reputation and moral conduct outside of work, in the community and on social media networks. Adhere to organizational policies and procedures as described in the organization’s Employee Handbook, Staff Code of Ethics, and elsewhere. High School diploma or GED. Must pass the School District Instructional Aide Test or have a Bachelor's Degree. Experience working with children (volunteer work counts). Able to review and implement lesson plans provided by the District. Knowledge of youth development stages. Early Childhood education credits are plus. Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems. Ability to deal with the general public. Ability to plan and implement quality activities for youth. Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Interpersonal skill development and maintenance. Valid State Driver's License or California ID card. Must clear TB, Drug Screen and Fingerprint check. CPR & First Aid Certifications - required within 6 months of hire date. Contribute to environment of safety through the learning and implementation and monitoring of all safety-related best practices, policies, and procedures. Promote accountability to safety through consistent observation, adherence to all safety rules and practices and proactive communication among members, parents, peers, and leadership. Obtain and maintain Mandated Reporter training and complete annual Child Abuse Prevention training. Complete training and participate in all Emergency Preparedness protocols including drills and communication practices.

PRIMARY FUNCTION :
Implement programs and activities provided by Supervisor. Must monitor and evaluate situations using good judgment and behavior management techniques. Create and maintain a safe environment for members and adults within the program space.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities) :

RELATIONSHIPS :
Internal : Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive / provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines / instructions ; instruct; and advise / counsel.
External : Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems.
