If these questions resonate with you, then we invite you to consider joining our English as a Second Language (ESL) department. We provide courses from pre-literacy level to pre-college and embed technology skills in a contextualized curriculum as we prepare students for the workplace, the HS+ Diploma and transition to college. Primary teaching responsibilities depend on division needs and professor's background. This position requires the use of a variety of instructional modalities and extensive use of technology. This part-time position is an ongoing recruitment in which applications are collected year-round. Applicants must be available to teach the daytime, evening or weekend hours. General Faculty Responsibilities :
- Instruct classes utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning.
- Effectively use computer applications for instruction, communication where appropriate, and maintaining program compliance.
- Maintain department curriculum standards.
- Provide appropriate means to assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Use appropriate teaching methods to respond to varying student learning styles.
- Participate in decision-making processes by taking part in department and college committees.
- Participate in relevant department activities supporting the teaching and learning environment.
- Strive to enhance teaching and learning techniques.
- Work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
- Understand and commit to the mission of Clark College.
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies :
Salary Statement : Lecture hourly rate is $93.18, and lab hourly rate is $79.59.
