About the Role
An established commercial flooring contractor with over $50M in annual revenue is expanding its estimating team. This organization specializes in education (primarily K12), healthcare, athletic facilities, corporate spaces, and other commercial segments, with active efforts to expand market reach.
The team is seeking a Commercial Estimator with a background in subcontractor work such as flooring, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing. The ideal candidate will have at least 35 years of estimating experience on commercial projects and will thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
This position is onsite , with very limited travel (primarily conducted by the lead estimator), and will join a growing estimating team that currently includes five professionals, with the goal of expanding to seven or eight.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret project drawings and specifications for commercial flooring bids
- Use internal systems to submit competitive bids
- Perform accurate material take-offs using Measure Square software
- Apply pricing in coordination with internal pricing specialists
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 20 projects at various stages simultaneously
- Coordinate hand-offs to project management teams after bid award
- Respond to RFIs and clarifications during the bidding process
- Communicate with internal teams regarding project requirements and updates
- Collaborate closely with the Lead Estimator and broader operations team
