The University of Oklahoma Libraries seeks to recruit a Senior Libraries Web Developer. Working as a member of the University Libraries’ Digital Strategies & Innovation division and reporting to the CID Technical Manager, the Senior Web Developer is responsible for the development and maintenance of the libraries’ websites, including libraries.ou.edu, which supports over 1.3 million views per year from users with a wide variety of information and research needs and provides access to many of the core research tools used on campus. The Senior Libraries Web Developer is the libraries’ primary Drupal ecosystem expert, tracking product features, security vulnerabilities, possible alternatives, and the overall upstream roadmaps for our key web platforms. This position is a contributing expert on web accessibility and usability measures for all library platforms, ensuring compliance with legal ADA, WCAG 2.1 AA, and Section 508 requirements and best practices. This position and the required expertise are critical to ensuring the libraries’ website serves as a functional and easy-to-navigate gateway to the libraries’ online resources, and ensuring the websites are compliant with accessibility standards. Best consideration date for applications is January 20, 2025.
