Position Summary
San Diego State University Athletics is seeking a proactive and service-oriented Information Technology Coordinator to provide vital support for the department’s information systems. This role ensures that coaches, staff, and student-athletes have the reliable technology and tools they need to perform at their best. The Technology Support Specialist will assist with system design and upgrades, coordinate technology solutions across Athletics, and provide in-house training and support to staff and coaches. Acting as Athletics’ liaison with campus IT and security teams, this position plays a critical role in keeping our technology secure, effective, and future-focused.
What You’ll Do :
- Assist in planning, organizing, and administering Athletics information systems operations.
- Design and implement system specifications, upgrades, and schedules to improve efficiency.
- Coordinate programming efforts to correct, modify, or replace existing systems software.
- Establish and document technology policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Provide hands-on computer and technology training for Athletics staff and coaches.
- Collaborate with coaches, staff, and campus partners to meet evolving technological needs.
- Serve as Athletics liaison with campus IT, IT Security (ITSO), and BFA Desktop Services.
- Support long-range planning and the Athletics Information Systems master plan.
- Travel, work evenings, and weekends as needed to provide on-site tech support for Athletics events.
- Protect and manage sensitive information with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.

Department Summary
The Department of Athletics, utilizing the services of over 150 employees, is responsible for the intercollegiate athletics program at San Diego State University. Currently, there are 18 sport programs, approximately 450 student-athletes, and 17 offices in the department. The offices include the following : The Aztec Club, Administration, Athletic Medicine, Business Office, Compliance, Corporate Sales, Development, Equipment, Event Management / Facilities and Operations, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing, Media Relations, Strength and Conditioning, Student-Athlete Academic Support Services, Ticket Office, and Video.

Education and Experience
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of relevant experience.
