Demonstrates an advanced understanding of the procedures / policies required for decontamination and terminal sterilization of instrumentation while instituting protective measures to assure proper decontamination and sterilization. Demonstrates operational knowledge and technical competence when using equipment and supplies and can precept new employees in cleaning instruments / equipment / supplies properly and stores them securely. Maintains instrumentation / equipment in good working order and reports malfunctions or broken items or unsafe instrumentation to appropriate personnel. Demonstrates working knowledge of decontaminator, ultrasonic, washer sterilizer, hand washing delicate, flexible, power instrumentation, steam, plasma-hydrogen peroxide, paracetic acid methods of stylization. Communicates and listens effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge. Cooperates and interacts with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to "service". High school or equivalent education 1-3 years of experience in Sterile Processing Department Hospital experience Sterile Processing Certification
