Role Summary :

Practical Law US is looking for a Senior Associate Editor (SAE) to work on resources for our Law Firm and Law Department subscribers. About the Role :

In this opportunity as Senior Associate Editor, you will : Manage recurring editorial tasks, including drafting marketing emails, Practical Law Journal articles, and publishing Practical Law Legal Updates. Draft new commercial or regulatory legal content and update existing content to ensure accuracy and relevance. Maintain significant US state content and support Global, Canada, and AI initiatives. Collaborate with other team members to ensure the content meets the needs of our subscribers. Assist in the editorial development of Practical Law or Thomson Reuters products. Establish and maintain relationships with external law firm contributors. About You :

You're a fit for the role of Senior Associate Editor if you have at least the following skills and experience : A JD from an ABA accredited law school and a current license to practice law in at least one US state. A minimum of three to five years of experience working as a lawyer in a law firm or in-house setting. Experience with commercial contracting or regulatory matters. Strong writing skills with close attention to detail and an impressive command of grammar, punctuation, and plain English. Ability to write about complex legal issues clearly and simply. Ability to embrace new technologies, including AI tools and resources. Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and support product development, sales, and marketing efforts. Flexibility to work on tasks beyond writing legal resources, such as supporting product development and sales and marketing teams, giving presentations, and responding to subscriber inquiries. Ideal candidates will have, but are not required to have : Experience working on legal issues across a variety of US states. Experience using various AI platforms and an understanding of effective AI prompt building. Candidates selected for a second interview will be required to submit a writing sample. Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $70,000 - $130,000. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity.
