The Wärtsilä Energy Storage team has a vacancy for a  Field Service Engineer – Energy Storage.  The preferred location for this position is Emeryville, CA. This position will be primarily hybrid and occasionally reporting into one of Wärtsilä local offices. The ideal candidate has a degree in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years of experience with energy storage systems and / or renewable energy, power systems design and communication networks.

What Will You Be Doing As a Service Engineer – Energy Storage, you will focus on these responsibilities :

• Perform field service activities according to the agreement needs and work plan.
• Support on commission of stationary battery energy storage systems and related equipment.
• Solve technical and operational problems at our customer installations as well as report and propose product improvement needs to reach quality and cost targets and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Manage and maintain good relationships with the customer.
• Prepare and present analytical reports with adequate conclusions and recommendations for how to solve technical problems of the customer as required.
• Participate in customer meetings as local technical advisor when needed.
• Create service work reports and other relevant documentation related to site or customer visits.
• Be able to travel to our customer facilities for service attendance within Canada, US and the Caribbean.
• Be on service jobs about 50% minimum of the year

For applicants that reside in  California , the salary range / hourly wage range is $82,647 - $107,441.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby / on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Eligibility to participate in : the discretionary incentive plan assigned to the level of position upon offer of employment; medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) plan and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms; Company-paid benefits such as life insurance, short- and long-term disability, subject to applicable waiting periods. Paid time off (PTO) is accrued on a per-pay period basis in accordance with tenure in the Company; a new hire can expect 17 days per year. Twelve (12) Company-paid holidays.
