FST in search of a senior level Structural / Certified Welding Engineer for an exciting long-term opportunity in Austin, TX! Local candidates with strong manufacturing engineering and welding backgrounds are ideal, but we are open to discussing the opportunity for travelers as well.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES :

Develop / document a procedure, in compliance with requirements, derived from :

• AWS (American Welding Society) D1.1 : Structural Welding Code Steel
• ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) B31.3 : Process Piping Standard

Develop / document PQR and WPS for structural steel and pipe under AWS D1.1 & ASME B31.3 1.3

Develop / document welding inspection / testing procedures under AWS D1.1 & ASME B31.3. 1.4

Provide a detailed Implementation Plan to successfully execute the scope of work

Support fabrication team in developing weld procedures / specifications in compliance with AWS D1.1 & ASME B31.3

Support in developing PQR’s and WPS’s under each code / standard as applicable for each welding application and material :

Support in the creation of welding inspection / testing procedures along with the appropriate documentation to stay in compliance with the applicable code / standard. To include : material tracking, filler metal specification tracking, etc. tied to the welding.
