Hospital Pharmacy Supervisor

An accomplished regional medical center is seeking a Hospital Pharmacy Supervisor to champion medication safety, controlled substances stewardship, and sterile compounding excellence in a high-acuity environment 💊.

The Hospital Pharmacy Supervisor will serve within a 250+ bed, Joint Commission–accredited, Magnet-recognized teaching environment known for advanced oncology, cardiology, surgical, and emergency services.

The Supervisor reports to the Director of Pharmacy Services and provides leadership across sterile products, controlled substances processes, and quality improvement programs. The Hospital Pharmacy Supervisor leads a skilled cohort of IV pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, with oversight of the ambulatory Cancer Center Pharmacy when needed. The role partners closely with Nursing leadership, Anesthesiology, Oncology, Compliance, Pain / Opioid Stewardship, and Performance Improvement to achieve operational and clinical goals.

The Hospital Pharmacy Supervisor advances clinical excellence by standardizing aseptic technique, coaching staff, validating competencies, and ensuring safe handling of hazardous drugs. The position directs administrative functions including staffing and scheduling, policy development, audits, accreditation readiness, and cross-department coordination, while aligning operations with budget and service goals. The Hospital Pharmacy Supervisor leads controlled substances oversight—recordkeeping, reconciliation, surveillance, and analytics—while contributing to drug diversion mitigation and opioid stewardship metrics that optimize analgesic safety and effectiveness.
