Senior Database  Architect Location :   Remote (Eastern Time Hours) Employees :   650|  Team Size :   15 |  Revenue :   $100M+ Industry :   B2B Software, Healthcare, Government Reports To :   Director, Data Services  Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for database strategy and platforms that span multiple applications and environments
  • Architect, administer, design, monitor and support MS SQL, Azure and Cache databases from the ground up
  • Recommend and develop data strategies to address industry requirements and business needs
  • Leverage modern software development and DevSecOps tools and processes to automate repetitive tasks
  • Architect database platform(s) for the enterprise and in proposal and grant writing efforts
  • Anchor database activities in Azure and AWS
  • Develop and maintain meaningful cloud metrics and reporting
  • Review and approve database platform recommendations including backups, clustering, mirroring, replication, failover and high availability
  • Mentor teammates through education and support
  • Analyze expensive provisioning, queries, deadlocks and / or bottlenecks and remediate accordingly

Requirements :

  • Expert on SQL Server 2012-2019 and Azure databases
  • Knowledge of Cache database system
  • Expert on SSRS, SSIS, PowerPivot, SSAS, PowerView, PowerPivot, Power BI or Tableau
  • Capable of running Perfmon or SQL tools to analyze / troubleshoot SQL performance and capacity
  • Expert writing and troubleshooting store procedures and triggers
  • Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps and GIT development
  • Ability to develop technical specifications and interpret business requirements
  • Ability to automate processes and manage priorities effectively to achieve optimal results
  • Strong understanding of IIS, Active Directory, and DNS
  • Capable of designing and tuning databases for custom applications
  • Experience with C# is preferred
  • MCDBA, MCITP, or MCPD certifications are preferred

  • 70.00 - $80.00 per hour
