Description : Job Summary Overview

The position is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the Payment Processing department to ensure timely and accurately processing.

Essential Job Functions

  • Understands processing related to ACH, Checks and Wires.
  • Provides ongoing coaching and feedback to team members to maintain a positive team dynamic and to improve individual performance and efficiency.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Accountable for the resolution of escalated member situations.
  • Ensures compliance with NACHA operating rules, and all state / federal regulations.
  • Assists with hiring and developing training plan for new team members.
  • Supports a servant leadership culture and serve as a communicator of organizational change and be proactive to ensure consistency throughout the area and network related to payment processing.
  • Initiates improvements to policies, procedures, and processes to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Assists with recommending new or existing vendor relationships.
  • Handles department inquiries, investigations, special requests and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for monthly processing reports.
  • Assists the Payment Processing Manager with tasks and act as coverage in their absence.
  • Assists the Treasury Management Operations Manager with administration tasks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned from Payment Processing Manager.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Hours vary based on the needs of the department. Team members work a variety of shifts starting at 8am and ending at 6 : 15pm.

Requirements :

Position Required Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

High School diploma or GED and two (2) years’ experience in a financial institution in payment processing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge and experience in NACHA rules and Government regulations. Knowledge of Regulation E, OFAC and BSA. Working knowledge of computers and software applications in Windows, Excel, and Word. Ability to type 30 wpm. Ability to perform 10-key accurately. Ability to read, write, speak, and use proper grammar in English. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, correspondence, memos, and procedure manuals. Ability to write business correspondence, write reports and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate verbally both in person and on the telephone. Ability to speak effectively to members regarding common inquiries or complaints. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Licenses, Training, and Certifications Required

None.

Preferred Qualifications

ACH Accredited Professional (AAP Certified). Prior leadership experience.

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • Frequently required to sit.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger keys accurately when using calculator machines or computer keyboards; reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Must be able to travel independently to department and branch locations.
