Salary : $23.00 -$ 25.00
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Assists the Medical Staff Services Department in the day to day Medical Staff Office duties and credentialing operations including processing all aspects of the medical staff meetings which include producing an agenda, packets, minutes and follow-up.
- Maintains a current working knowledge and interpretation of the Joint Commission (TJC) standards, Centers for Medicare and Medical Services (CMS), California Title 22, and other related state and federal healthcare regulations pertaining to the accurate timely credentialing of Medical Staff members
- Has a working knowledge of information systems, databases, credentialing processes, and computer systems applicable to the department
- Coordinates, organizes, and oversees the day to day credentialing activities for effective, efficient credentialing within all applicable rules, regulations, standards and guidelines
- Acts as a liaison between the Medical Staff and the Medical Staff Services Department
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Organizational skills and accuracy very important

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : Associate Degree preferably in the Medical Field
Experience : Experience in the medical field; and credentialing experience preferred.
Proficient in the use of multiple computer software programs; Microsoft Suite, Internet access and use as well as Medical Staff database software.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Performs the processes and activities for the appointment, reappointment and proctoring according the NCQA, CMS, TJC, and Title 22 for all members of the Medical Staff.Conducts the ongoing credentialing audits applicable to the departments credentialing function.Ensures the completion, updating and maintenance of physicians medical license, DEA Malpractice insurance and all other time sensitive documents required for credentialing.Creates an effective process that moves applications (initial and reappointment) in a timely sequential course through the committee approval system. Meets or exceeds expected time frames to process credentialing requestsResponsible for the implementation and ongoing effective timely proctoring process.Scans assigned documents into databases.Responsible for timely data entry into assigned databases.Creates reports from assigned databases with appropriate graphicsConducts an accurate comprehensive ongoing notification process for communicating requests for credentialing documents / information, renewal notifications, re-appointment requirements, and other communications between the organization and the Medical Staff.Creates agenda, packets, schedules, rosters, calendars, membership lists, and other documents required to ensure the ongoing functions and participation in medical staff and assigned hospital committees.Ensures that schedules are generated and communicated for meetings, on call duties, and other Medical staff responsibilities pertaining to the organization. Takes minutes for medical staff meetings as directed.Acts as a resource to the Medical Staff Leadership to the current and changes to rules, regulations, and standard applicable to the credentialing process.Maintains accurate complete retention files and binders for documentation of medical staff activities, reference and survey readiness.Collaborates with the Director Quality, Risk, and Medical Staff Services and appropriate Medical Staff leadership to ensure Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, Policies and Procedures, and forms are compliant with all federal, state and accreditation language and requirements.Maintains open timely communication with the Director of Quality, Risk, and Medical Staff Services, the Chief Medical Officer and other physician leaders in the organization.Responsible for the orientation program and training materials for on-boarding and required periodic re-orientation for Medical Staff members. Coordinates off-boarding activities as appropriate.General supervision and direction is provided; however, the employee is expected to use a high degree of leadership, innovation and independence in daily decision-makingGenerates business correspondence at the request of the Director, Chief of Staff, Department Chairs. or CMO as requested.1 - Full-Time (1.0 FTE Days
