Adjunct Instructor - Mental Health for First Responders

PURPOSE :

This is a Non-Track Adjunct position in the Mental Health for First Responders Certificate program. Primary expectations include teaching undergraduate courses (as assigned) in online formats. Adjuncts must have the credentials necessary to teach Mental Health courses.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

• Ability to plan and prepare course content and curriculum, utilizing assessment and effective methodologies of instruction for the enhancement of learning.
• Collaborate with other faculty members for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum.
• Provide appropriate classroom and online instruction for students enrolled in assigned Mental Health for First Responders course(s).
• Maintain expertise in the field of study and teaching pedagogy by attending seminars, workshops, and classes for self-improvement and / or professional enhancement.
• Desire discipline-specific teaching with a demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness.
• Commitment to the philosophy and outcomes of the Mental Health for First Responders Certificate and Security Sciences Institute framework within which the certificate is offered. Maintain professional development activities.
• Maintain positive relationships within the University and in the larger community.
