Position Overview
The CSFO will manage the school's financial health, ensuring compliance with Alabama State Department Of Education (ALSDE) policies, charter school law, and federal programs (including Child Nutrition Program (CNP)). The ideal candidate will have expertise in governmental accounting, grant management, and school finance, with a keen eye for detail and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities :
Budgeting & Financial Reporting :
- Develop and monitor annual budgets in compliance with ALSDE and charter school requirements.
- Submit accurate Monthly / Annual Expenditure Reports (MER / AER) and ensure fiscal year-end closeout.
Federal Programs & Compliance :
Oversee Title I, Title II, IDEA, and CNP funding, ensuring proper allocation and audit readiness.Maintain compliance with USDA, EDGAR, and Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200).Audit & Risk Management :
Serve as the primary contact for financial audits (ALSDE, independent, federal).Implement internal controls to prevent fraud and financial mismanagement.Strategic Leadership :
Advise the Board and leadership on financial sustainability and resource allocation.Analyze financial data to support decision-making and long-term planning.
