The Role

Treaty Oak is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Associate, Development. The role would be to support the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the U.S and will work closely with cross-functional teams in project development, real estate, permitting, environmental, engineering, and external stakeholders to drive projects from early-stage concept through key milestones. The position reports to the Senior Manager, Development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day management of development activities for assigned projects, including tracking milestones, risks, and deliverables. Assist with site acquisition, due diligence, title review, and coordination with landowners and local authorities.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to obtain necessary permits, environmental reviews, and interconnection applications.
  • Track and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation in collaboration with project managers.
  • Prepare materials for internal and external reporting, including presentations, investment memos, and permitting updates.
  • Monitor local ordinances, zoning, and regulatory developments that may affect project feasibility or timelines.
  • Evaluate project-specific property tax regimes, including research into tax abatements or bilateral property tax agreements, including representation and negotiation on behalf of Treaty Oak and the respective project with local officials.
  • Contribute to stakeholder engagement, including communications with landowners, regulators, and local communities.

Education and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in project development focused on energy assets
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
  • Strong project coordination, organization, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with land use, permitting, and / or utility interconnection processes is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project tracking tools.
  • Self-starter who is eager to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
