Primary ResponsibilitiesPersonal Care : Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.Companionship : Offer emotional support, conversation, and engagement in social or recreational activities.Meal Support : Prepare and serve meals, assist with feeding if necessary, and ensure proper nutrition.Light Housekeeping : Maintain a clean and safe environment (laundry, dishes, tidying client areas).Medication Reminders : Ensure clients take prescribed medications on time (as directed by care plan).Monitoring & Reporting : Observe and document changes in client condition or behaviour and report to supervisor or nurse.Transportation Assistance : Accompany clients to appointments or errands, if required.QualificationsCompassionate, patient, and dependable personality.Basic knowledge of personal care and hygiene practices.Good communication and observation skills.Ability to follow care plans and agency policies.High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).Completion of PCA training program or state-approved competency exam (as required).Work EnvironmentPCAs typically work in private homes, assisted living facilities, or community-based care settings, often under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Care Coordinator.
