AR Silicon Graphics and Modeling Architect

We are currently seeking a Graphics Modeling Engineer to support the development of a custom graphics pipeline optimized for Mixed Reality systems. As part of the Graphics Architecture and Systems team, you will help lead functional and performance modeling for the MR graphics pipeline and work in close collaboration with the groups developing graphics IPs and pipeline for MR devices.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the graphics and system architecture teams to develop functional and performance models for Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality (AR / VR) graphics pipeline
  • Lead power / performance modeling and analysis of graphics pipeline components, features and use cases
  • Support all phases of Silicon System on Chip (SoC) development from a graphics pipeline modeling perspective - from early definition on through specification, architecture and productization
  • Contribute to execution of our silicon technology / graphics roadmap to make beyond state-of-the-art advances in performance, power consumption and form factor
  • Work across disciplines, build new methodologies, juggle / coordinate multiple initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years of experience in IP / System on Chip (SoC) / System functional or performance modeling including model implementation, validation and / or correlation
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or relevant technical field
  • Experience with hardware modeling
  • Understanding of System on Chip (SoC) and System architecture and heterogeneous compute principles
  • Experience with programming languages (C / C++ and Python-or similar), script automation and data visualization
  • Experience evaluating architectural trade-offs in performance, power and image quality
  • Experience employing scientific methods to debug, diagnose and drive the resolution of complex, cross-disciplinary system issues
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GPU hardware architectures or graphics pipelines
  • Experience with building or modifying full-system performance simulators
  • Experience with collecting and interpreting performance counters using GPU / CPU profilers
  • Experience in graphics workload development with Unity or Unreal game engines
  • Experience with thermally constrained power / performance optimization in mobile devices
  • Experience of consistently working under your own initiative, seeking feedback and input where appropriate
