As Senior Director, Event Production at TENCUE, you will lead the team that defines our reputation as a creative production powerhouse.

You are excited to contribute your expertise and unique point of view to create the long-term strategic vision for the production department and the company. You are curious about the best ways to balance the needs of the people, the business, our clients, and our communities.

You thrive as a strategic advisor to clients, understanding their business situations, goals, and objectives. You collaboratively build solutions and teams that translate their needs into actionable production plans.

You are on a mission to diversify production teams through recruitment, mentorship, and systemic changes that support everyone on the team.

You will help the team - and the agency - see the forest and the trees; lending your bravery, driving curiosity, remaining calm in difficult situations, and always challenging the status quo.

You will be instrumental in relentlessly asking "why," championing collaboration, and demonstrating care and quality.

Areas of Focus

  • Key member of the leadership team and collaborates with other leaders to develop strategic goals and operating plans
  • Actively participates in managing and enhancing the company's culture and mentoring other leaders
  • Sets an example by defining and following company values, policies, and standards.
  • Provides strategic leadership to the production team
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of the constantly changing event & experience industry landscape
  • Leads the team in fulfilling the evolving needs of clients
  • Builds and develops high-performing, cross-functional teams, overseeing the assignment of FTEs and resourcing of contractors

Business Development :

  • Collaborates on proposals and new business strategy
  • Assigns production resources to proposal development
  • Responsible for ensuring that proposals are creatively, technically, and financially aligned with our standards and goals
  • Client Relationship Management

  • Understands clients' business situations, goals, and objectives to build solutions and execution teams
  • Serves as a key point of contact for clients regarding production-related matters, ensuring clear communication and exceptional service
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and translating them into actionable production plans
  • Leads and manages the team and projects to meet net profit and gross margin goals for production
  • Manage pricing and costing for all production services
  • Understands the current industry landscape affecting pricing models
  • Guides the team on pricing and approach for ongoing profitability
  • Strategy and Innovation

  • Responsible for developing and implementing production strategies that align with the agency's goals and client expectations
  • Stays current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in experiential marketing and production
  • Drives innovation within the production team, encouraging the exploration of new ideas and technologies to enhance audience experiences
  • Tasks & Tactics

    Project Management

  • Oversees the planning, execution, and evaluation of all production projects to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Collaborates with clients, agency leadership, account managers and creative teams to understand project requirements and propose solutions
  • Supports and supervises internal and external staff during program execution and delivery
  • Resource Management

  • Researches and assigns the best resources to meet project and business needs, including sourcing and hiring freelance personnel
  • Builds comprehensive staffing plans tailored to the requirements of large-scale projects and ensures optimal resource allocation
  • Identifies, negotiates, and manages relationships with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers
  • Negotiates contracts and ensures timely delivery of materials and services that meet or exceed expectations
  • Budget Management

  • Develops and manages production budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standards
  • Analyzes financial performance and identifies areas for improvement
  • In collaboration with leadership, develops and manages the production department operating budget
  • Quality Control

  • Establishes and enforces rigorous quality control processes to maintain the highest standards of production quality and team and client satisfaction
  • Communication and Coordination

  • Cultivates open communication across the production team and the broader agency to ensure team goals are aligned with project, client and company goals
  • Coordinates and manages relationships with key clients, internal constituents, and external partners
  • Training and Mentorship

  • Grows and mentors the production team to meet evolving client and industry standards through training and performance management
  • Plans and documents career paths and growth trajectories for production team members
  • Required Experience

  • 10+ years of event production, and team management experience
  • Demonstrable track record of achieving revenue, cost, and profitability goals
  • Verifiable experience in full understanding of the production of live events, virtual events, media, and content
  • Motivational leadership and team-building experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrable ability to articulate 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year thinking / planning
  • Long-term mentorship and leadership development
  • Active curiosity about how humans gather, and thoughts about how that might change in various future scenarios
  • Experience and comfort with change management
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 30% of time)
  • Ability to read, interpret, and fulfill client agreements

  • How We'll Take Care Of You

    Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting salary for this role is between $160,000 and $175,000. Our salary ranges are based on third-party national average market compensation analysis. The actual salary is dependent upon many factors, such as : training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

    Physical Requirements :

    Individuals will be required to sit and stand for the majority of the day. May require periodic walking. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required. Proper lifting techniques required. Individuals will be required to travel via airplane, train, taxi, car and / or other means of transportation as needed.
