Are you a vigilant and responsible individual passionate about aquatic safety? Spanish Fork City is seeking dedicated Lifeguards to ensure the safety of our community's aquatic enthusiasts in the pool areas of our FitCity Center.
This is a vital position where you'll act as a primary responder in any emergency situation within our recreation facility. You'll play a critical role in preventing drownings and other injuries, directly contributing to a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience for all our patrons and staff.
About the position :
In this crucial role, you'll serve as a primary responder in emergencies, playing a critical part in preventing drownings and injuries. Beyond ensuring safety, you'll help foster strong connections with patrons and staff, contributing to a welcoming and supportive culture that makes our aquatic facility a cornerstone of community well-being.
Safety and Emergency Response :
You'll be at the forefront of safety, acting as a primary first responder to prevent drownings and other injuries inside the recreation facility. Your responsibilities include :
- Ensuring life safety for all patrons within the aquatic area.
- Providing immediate and effective first aid and emergency care when needed.
- Recognizing and responding quickly and effectively to emergencies.
- Continuously monitoring assigned areas.
- Completing safety checks.
- Actively eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors.
Supervision & Operations
Following established emergency protocols and demonstrating calm and decisive action during incidents.Attend shifts at the following times (4 : 45am - 9 : 15am, 9 : 00am - 2 : 00pm, 1 : 45pm - 6 : 30pm, & 6 : 15pm - 10 : 15pm).Monitoring and enforcing all safety rules, policies, and procedures with professionalism.Actively participating in regular in-service training.Customer Service & Communication
Resolving customer concerns, troubleshooting, and resolving problems promptly.Enforcing rules and regulations in a firm yet courteous manner to ensure a safe, high-quality, and pleasant recreation environment for all patrons.Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other lifeguards, staff, members, and guests.Position Qualifications
Age : Must be at least 15 years old.Certifications : Must possess or be able to possess and maintain the following American Red Cross Certifications :Lifeguard Training (LG)CPR for the Professional RescuerTraining opportunities for these certifications may be available for qualified candidates.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :The ability to make sound and reasonable choices in difficult situations.The capacity to react calmly to stressful situations and help resolve conflicts that may arise.Excellent communication skills across all age groups, including the ability to handle complaints effectively and enforce pool regulations firmly while maintaining strong public relations.Language : Must be proficient in English.Physical Demands & Additional Requirements :
Physical Demands : You must be able to perform the physical demands of the job, including swimming, diving, bending, pulling, and lifting up to 80 pounds .Must be able to meet attendance and punctuality requirements for this position, including working some early mornings, late night, weekends, and holidays.Must abide by all city policies and procedures .
