TITLE : Financial Analyst, Underwriting & Acquisitions

COMPANY : Affordable Equity Partners, Inc.

LOCATION : Columbia MO preferred but will consider candidates in St. Louis, MO. This position is based in office

LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY. Applicants out of state will not be considered. Relocation not offered for this position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Job Summary :

The financial analyst will support acquisitions efforts by developing financial models, budgets and assumptions, and analyzing, underwriting and closing Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) investments.

Essential Functions :

  • Assist with underwriting multifamily developments financed with LIHTC.
  • Perform financial projections and other analyses used in evaluating potential investments.
  • Collect, analyze and catalog project due diligence materials.
  • Prepare investment packages for the Investment Committee.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining good working relationships with clients.
  • Travel periodically to analyze markets and evaluate properties.
  • Works with all other departments / companies to structure an acceptable investment model.
  • Attends industry related conferences and seminars.
  • Other related duties as determined from time to time and communicated to the employee.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics or related field.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Experience in multifamily real estate investments; internships or post graduate experience
  • Knowledge of real estate investments and tax credits.-Beginner
  • Ability to compile, analyze, interpret, and present complex financial reports, statements, and / or projections.- Advanced
  • MS Excel skills-Advanced
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds-Advanced
  • High level of personal integrity
  • Keen sense of detail
  • Tenacious in meeting deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a fast- paced / entrepreneurial work environment.
  • Able to create presentations for management teams when needed
  • Strong organizational skills and the demonstrated ability to work productively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and firm deadlines.
