Federal Senior Consultant – Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Location : Melbourne, FL (100% Remote)

Duration : 6 Months (Approx. 960 Hours)

Citizenship Requirement : “ Applicants must be eligible for a U.S. government security clearance. ”

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Consultant to support a federal customer team in accelerating automation initiatives and strengthening DevOps maturity. This remote residency focuses on hands-on delivery of IaC solutions while mentoring and enabling client engineers to sustain and extend automation practices long-term.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with customer engineering teams to design, build, and deploy automation frameworks and infrastructure solutions .

Optimize and enhance CI / CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, and GitLab.

Implement and standardize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies leveraging tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet , and scripting languages (Python, JavaScript).

Mentor and upskill client engineers through structured knowledge transfer sessions and guided enablement.

Drive long-term automation capability by embedding sustainable DevOps best practices.

Deliver high-impact, secure, and repeatable automation that aligns with enterprise and federal compliance requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

Expertise in Ansible (primary) , Terraform , Chef , and Puppet

Strong knowledge of VMware (vSphere / vRealize) environments

Proficiency in Python and JavaScript scripting for automation tasks

Experience with CI / CD platforms – Jenkins, Git, and GitLab

Background in scripting, optimization, and infrastructure automation

Strong grasp of DevOps principles and federal IT security standards
