Supply Technician
Help perform the complete range of requisition processing duties on emergency, urgent, routine, work stoppage, bearer pick-up material requirements.
Use the Government Purchase Card (PC) to buy a wide variety of commercial and technical material and services in support of facility maintenance and repair throughout the AOR.
Receive, review, analyze and verify source documents for exactness of required data elements for accurate placement of material orders.
Prepare, reconcile and validate monthly credit card statements with completed credit card purchase packages.
Determine sources of supply for items including local stock numbers, national stock numbers and alternate sources for non-standard material.
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

This is a bargaining unit position.
You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and / or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
You must demonstrate at least one year of Supply Technician experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying a thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in order to perform complex assignments and conduct extensive searches for required information in order to resolve issues related to physical inventory and distribution, material requisitioning, receipt and issue control systems.
You have experience utilizing various inventory methods, principles, and practices, in order to conduct investigations or technical studies about complex supply issues and display the results in a meaningful format.
You have experience and skill in interpreting and applying inventory guidelines, regulations, instructions, and policy statements, along with a knowledge and understanding of inventory locations.
Examples of specialized experience may include the following : reconstructing complex supply transactions, resolving discrepancies, conducting extensive record searches to establish audit trails, and responding to inquiries pertaining to applicable supply support requirements; comprehensive in depth knowledge of the Department of Defense supply system and stock point operations, understanding of the transportation systems both military and civilian, skill in using automated data processing systems and simple analysis techniques for determination of efficiency and effectiveness; knowledge of procurement procedures and regulations, various type of contact actions and government PC programs; knowledge of Single Platform MAXIMO automated operating system sufficient to enter, extract and correct data, retrieve recurring reports and structure and receive specialized reports.
In lieu of general / specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience : successfully completed one full year of graduate level education that is directly related to the position being filled.
