Job Description
The Financial Development Director is responsible for meeting the fundraising goals of the YMCA of El Paso’s annual, capital, planned giving campaigns as well as implementation of donor events and stewardship efforts. The Financial Development Director will direct and lead the annual support campaign association planned giving strategies and branch capital campaigns, donor stewardship activities and events. Responsible for guiding and training staff and fundraising volunteers to use best practices, and increase volunteer participation in the annual campaign, capital and planned giving components of the YMCA financial development program. In partnership with the Chief Executive Officer and senior operational leaders, the Financial Development Director will ensure branches meet or exceed the fundraising goals and objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in non-profit management, communication, public relations, or years of financial development experience equal to bachelor’s degree
Eight to ten years of successful development experience, preferably as a full-time financial development professional or potentially as an executive leader in a non-profit organization
Strong management, organizational skills and donor event planning experience
Proven track record in reaching fundraising goals
Experience working collaboratively with board members, fundraising volunteers, committees
Essential Functions
Plan, organize and lead the association-wide annual support campaign
Serve as campaign director for the association annual support campaign (metro)
Partner with operations team / branch leadership / campaign counsel to meet branch annual, capital and planned giving campaign goals
Manage the association planned giving program strategies and activities (Heritage Club)
Serve as knowledge expert and trainer for branch staff and volunteers for fundraising best practices
Partner with marketing and operational leadership on development of fundraising communication, marketing materials and philanthropy web presence
Direct donor recognition programs for annual support, capital and planned giving campaigns
Manage activities for fundraising volunteer stewardship and recognition
Direct and manage donor events related to annual, capital and planned giving. (i.e. Valley-wide Kick-Off and Victory, President’s Club Dinner, Heritage Club Dinner, Major Donor In Home Events)
Responsible for meeting or exceeding fundraising goals for the Association Annual Support Campaign, Heritage Club Program, and branch capital campaigns
