About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its transformational journey. The successful candidate will be a visionary growth leader, capable of turning the current moment of transition into a period of unprecedented success. This role is not for a crisis manager, but for someone who can complete a major capital campaign, open a world-class facility, and guide the organization through a significant evolution. The immediate challenge is to complete the remaining $4.5 million of the capital campaign, lead the construction of the new facility, and prepare for a grand opening in 2026. The long-term opportunity is to scale the organization and expand its impact, serving as a regional destination for environmental education. The ideal Executive Director will have a minimum of 7 years' of nonprofit leadership experience, a proven track record in capital campaign completion, and a background in environmental education or related fields. They must be adept at organizational development, team building, and have a startup mentality with a nonprofit heart. Key responsibilities include community integration, partnership development, and a commitment to mission-driven program excellence. The role requires a leader with exceptional relationship-building skills, a deep passion for connecting people with nature, and a strong sense of resilience and energy. The Executive Director will also be responsible for financial leadership, resource development, and staffing, with a focus on creating a culture of excellence and collaboration.
