Job Summary :
The Electrical Technician II role is an exciting opportunity to be a key member a team that has a significant impact on the success of the Houston Operations facility, and the company. Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Repairs, designs, maintains, implements, and improves reliability on industrial electrical equipment and fixtures.
- Works with other Electrical Technicians and Engineers to improve reliability of electrical systems, foster teamwork, and ensure a safe work environment.
- Prepares electrical materials, components, and assemblies for evaluation and is able to interpret engineering change orders, blueprints, diagrams, sketches, photographs, and other documentation as they relate to assigned duties.
- Responsible for Troubleshooting and Repairs of 2300 VAC and 480 VAC motors and motor control circuits.
- Responsible for Preventative Maintenance on motors and motor control circuits.
- Responsible for Troubleshooting and Repairs to Motor Control Centers. (Switch Gear, Breakers, VFDs, etc)
- Responsible for Preventative Maintenance of Motor Control Centers and Switch Racks.
- Responsible for Preventative Maintenance of Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) and Battery Systems.
- Troubleshoots basic and complex control systems, using ladder diagrams.
- Responsible for maintaining plant wide lighting systems.
- Responsible for call outs and overtime (weekly on-call duty).
- Constructs and installs conduit and cable systems.
- Maintains required documentation for equipment repair, preventive maintenance, and mechanical integrity tasks.
- Ability to mentor / develop and provide training for less skilled / experienced technicians.
- May be required to inspect completed projects to ensure conformance with design and safety standards on electrical equipment and / or components.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalent (required)Minimum of 2 years of experience at TPC Group or 3-5 years of craft experience in the Petrochemical IndustryPreferred Qualifications
