Job Summary :
The Auto Packer Specialist is a hands-on technical lead responsible for maintaining efficient and continuous operation of the automatic packaging line. This role requires close collaboration with the Maintenance team and packaging operators to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve minor to medium-level mechanical and process issues. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Specialist is expected to train and mentor team members across all four shifts to build a strong, capable support structure that ensures consistent performance and output.
Key Responsibilities :
- Work a Monday–Friday schedule with minimum 2-hour overlap with night shift to support and train all shifts.
- Partner with Maintenance and the auto packer line team to diagnose and resolve recurring or mid-level equipment issues.
- Train and develop at least one operator per shift capable of keeping the auto packer line running smoothly, including basic troubleshooting and support.
- Actively engage in troubleshooting line stoppages and minor faults, focusing on keeping the line running at optimal efficiency.
- Identify and escalate personnel issues related to performance or skill gaps to the Department Head and Shift Supervisors; assist in developing improvement plans or recommending replacements if necessary.
- Push and motivate the packaging team to improve line performance, with an emphasis on achieving consistent maximum capacity output.
- Maintain positive and professional communication with the equipment / engineering team to ensure quick response to downtime and technical support needs.
- Take full advantage of the equipment manufacturer’s on-site presence to learn as much as possible about system operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance after they leave.
- Assist in coordinating and performing preventative maintenance (PM) in collaboration with Maintenance and Operations.
- Lead by example in technical skill, work ethic, and cross-functional collaboration, setting a performance standard for others to follow.
