JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
Department : Ultrasound 001
Shift timings : 18 : 00-06 : 30 Hours (Monday to Friday) 3 Days / 12 Hours
Per Week : 36 Hours
Pediatric Hospital, 36 bed site, 2 Siemens Sequoia, 18 bed ED, supports outpatient imaging, 24 hour staffing, on call required. This is a hybrid role requiring both diagnostic pediatric sonography and vascular sonography.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Performs appropriate diagnostic procedures, records patient test results and reports results.
- Monitors patient comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient responses.
- Maintains adequate supplies and verifies all equipment is in proper working condition; reports deficiencies and failures.
- Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
- Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
- Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data / history).
- Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
QUALIFICATIONS
BLS and ACLSNational Institutes of Health (NIH)Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.The ability to stand for extended periods.Strong technical skills.Knowledge of medical terminologyPassionate about patient careRequires a minimum of two years of current Vascular Sonography experience.Graduate from a fully accredited Sonography programActive unencumbered Sonography Texas licenseARRT CertificationOne year of Cerner experienceRequirements
