We are looking for a skilled Database Developer to join our client's team on a contract basis in Las Vegas, Nevada. In this role, you will focus on designing, optimizing, and maintaining cloud-based databases within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of data systems that support critical business applications, including retail and eCommerce platforms.

Responsibilities :

• Design, implement, and manage Azure SQL Databases, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other Azure data services to support enterprise applications.
• Create and maintain efficient data pipelines that integrate information across retail, eCommerce, and inventory management systems.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and partitioning techniques.
• Implement robust security measures, including encryption and access controls, while adhering to data governance and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with application developers to ensure data solutions are scalable and efficient.
• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain high availability with minimal downtime.
• Partner with business stakeholders to deliver data solutions that enhance forecasting, reporting, and analytics for retail operations.
• Support cloud migration initiatives by transitioning legacy databases into the Azure environment.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and ensure continuity for mission-critical systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in database engineering or administration, with a specialization in Azure-based systems.
• Expertise in Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Factory.
• Strong skills in database performance tuning, data security, and access management.
• Proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, and scripting languages like PowerShell or Python.
• Experience with retail data systems, including eCommerce platforms and supply chain tools (preferred).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, such as CI / CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform or Bicep.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
