Sample Management Scientist - Contract - Wilmington, DE

Proclinical is seeking a Sample Management Scientist to support a biopharmaceutical organization in advancing its mission to address unmet medical needs in oncology, inflammation, and autoimmunity.

Primary Responsibilities :

The successful candidate will play a key part in managing the lifecycle of samples, ensuring accurate processing, organization, and distribution. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Skills & Requirements :

  • Background in Biology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or related field; laboratory experience in compound management or sample logistics is desirable.
  • Familiarity with liquid handling automation is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and data entry skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications commonly used in laboratory settings.
  • Ability to work in proper personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, lab coat).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Adaptability to learn new technologies and software.

The Sample Management Scientist's responsibilities will be :

  • Receive and process incoming samples from internal and external sources.
  • Reformat incoming samples using tip-based liquid handling automation.
  • Fulfill outgoing sample requests, including manual and automated sample picking, aliquoting, reformatting, and titration.
  • Maintain communication with sample requestors and internal collaborators to ensure streamlined workflows.
  • Organize physical sample inventory and lab consumables.
  • Perform manual manipulation of vessels, plates, and racks as needed.
  • Keep detailed records and maintain organized documentation.
  • Learn and utilize new software and technologies to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Communicate project status effectively to team members.
