Senior Research Associate / Scientist, Biotherapeutics

Location : Branford, CT – Onsite

Who We Are

EvolveImmune Therapeutics is a privately-held, next-generation immuno-oncology company pioneering a new class of T cell engager therapies to transform cancer patient outcomes compared to current immunotherapies. Our first-in-category biotherapeutic EVOLVE platform utilizes integrated T cell costimulation to directly target tumor cells to deliver durable anti-tumor adaptive immune responses. Our lead asset, EVOLVE104, is anticipated to enter clinical trials in mid-2025. Additional collaboration pipeline programs (with Abbvie) and wholly owned programs are progressing toward candidate nomination. EvolveImmune’s team consists of over 45 FTEs in R&D, business development and operations with immediate plans for additional growth. Our newly expanded, state-of-the-art 20,000+ square foot laboratory and office space located in the New Haven, CT biotechnology corridor is convenient to the amenities of the Connecticut shoreline, the city of New Haven and easy travel options throughout the Boston / New York City corridor.

What You’ll Work On

  • Design and execute LC-MS–based workflows to characterize antibody and protein-based therapeutics, including intact and subunit mass analysis, peptide mapping, glycan profiling, and post-translational modifications.
  • Perform biochemical and biophysical analyses to evaluate structural integrity, stability, and binding properties using SEC, HIC, DSC, ELISA, SPR, and BLI.
  • Interpret data, identify molecular trends, and generate actionable insights to guide therapeutic candidate selection and optimization.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues in protein engineering, immunobiology, and translational science to support pipeline advancement.
  • Present findings in internal meetings and contribute to publications and patent filings.
  • Stay current with innovations in analytical and biophysical characterization of biologics.

What You Bring

  • PhD in Protein Biochemistry, Biophysics, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field with 2+ years of postdoctoral or industry experience; or MS with 5+ years, or BS with 8+ years of relevant experience in biotech / pharma.
  • Hands-on expertise with LC-MS instrumentation, sample prep, and data interpretation for protein characterization.
  • Familiarity with a range of analytical and biophysical techniques (SEC, HIC, Nano DSC, SPR, BLI, etc.) to evaluate protein structure, aggregation, and binding.
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and experimental workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to contribute in a team-based setting.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in mammalian protein expression and purification workflows.
  • Understanding of antibody structure-function relationships and T cell engager formats.
  • Exposure to immune cell biology or functional cell-based assays.
