American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications and at least two years of critical care experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the ICU of a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospitalPatient population includes respiratory failure / ARDS, acute cardiac events, stroke, multi-organ failure, sepsis, pre- and post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and abdominal surgeries, neuro-medicine and transplant cases, and end of life / organ donationNurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2Expected to work night shifts (3x12 hours, 19 : 00–07 : 30), including every other weekendNo on-call requiredWill float within the ICU service line to other ICU units as neededUses Epic EMR; recent Epic experience preferredSpecialized equipment includes ventilators / BiPAP, CRRT / dialysis, IV pumps, hemodynamic / invasive monitoring, and defibrillatorsMain responsibilities include managing critically ill adult patients with complex medical needs and supporting pre- and post-surgical careAdheres to strict infection prevention and isolation protocols including PPE useFrequent collaboration with multidisciplinary team for advanced patient care and critical decision-makingMust wear navy scrubsHoliday and charge assignments required as needed per unit policyReturn staff policy requires a one-year break following permanent employment at the facility before returning as a travelerRTO not permitted in the first week of assignment and may not exceed 7 days per 13-week contractMaximum assignment length is 18 months with a required 3-month break before returningCompletion of health screening labs and pre-start modules is required prior to the assignment\n \n Requirements\n
Active MO or compact RN license required (license must be in hand at time of consideration)At least 2 years of recent ICU experience requiredCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, and NIHSSProficiency with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, multi-system organ dysfunction, CVP monitoring, pulmonary artery line / Swan Ganz, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, administration of blood products, EKGs, and ventilator managementAbility to manage complex cases such as CRRT, acute / chronic renal failure, respiratory failure, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive dripsEpic charting experience required for most unitsMust reside at least 75 miles from the facility; no local candidates acceptedFirst-time travelers not accepted\n Benefits\n
