Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to assist the Deputy Director of Population Health with research, development and policy analysis activities of the Commission related to hospital performance measurement and population health. In doing so, the position assists senior leadership in implementing pay for performance programs that evaluate hospital quality of care, as well as hospital and statewide efforts to improve population health.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates must possess a master's degree from an accredited college or university in biostatistics, epidemiology, health services research, health economics, or related field. Qualified candidates must also possess two to three years of work experience focused on policy analysis, project management, or data analysis, preferably in a health-related setting.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Desired candidates should possess excellent quantitative and written communication skills as well as a collegial approach and the ability to lead projects and provide guidance to less-experienced colleagues. Desired candidates should also have a background in data collection but also have the ability to glean insights from the data that will be used to help shape public health policy. Candidates with a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline are preferred.
