Join our Hammond 4th-grade team as a Long-Term Substitute Teacher. This is a full-time exempt homeroom teacher position beginning in February 2026 and continuing through to the end of the semester, May 22, 2026. This position entails having a homeroom and teaching English Language Arts for two homerooms in a team-teaching approach alongside another 4th grade teacher.

Long-Term Substitute Teacher responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Adhering to the curriculum plans provided by the regular teacher.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Following established school and classroom procedures and achieving lesson goals.
• Complying with the duty schedule of the teacher being covered, including recess supervision, hallway transitions, lunch duty, and carpool procedures.
• Complying with all school employee regulations and policies at all times.
• Taking attendance.
• Ensuring the classroom and workstations are kept clean and orderly.
• Overseeing normal classroom rhythms and activities, including student engagement, behavior support, and positive classroom management.
• Communicating effectively with colleagues, parents, and administration.
• Following school safety plans and procedures.

Lower School Long-Term Substitute Teacher Requirements :

Reporting : Lower School Teachers report to the Head of Lower School.
