Title I Elementary Literacy Interventionist

Job Details :

The Elementary Literacy Interventionist school-based position is responsible for collaborating with other literacy interventionists and grade level teams as well as building level staff such as guidance and administration in order to provide targeted literacy support to targeted small groups.

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university is required;
• Masters Degree preferred
• Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary license in :
• Reading Grades : All levels preferred
• SEI Endorsement
• Professional Level Licensure preferred
• Minimum ofthree (3) years of successful teaching experience in 6th-8th grades.
• Training in Orton Gillingham or other multisensory reading instruction
• Experience with DIBELS and other literacy assessments.
• Experience analyzing and using a wide variety of data sources.
• Knowledge of current education legislation / regulations
• Knowledge of MA Curriculum Frameworks / Common Core and curriculum instruction and assessment
• Demonstrated technology skills including database spreadsheet and office applications
• Ability to work effectively with teachers support staff and parents and advocate for children in order to effectively problem solve
• Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders
• Belief in the commitment to increasing personal growth both academic and social-emotional to obtain the highest level of achievement for every student

As negotiated by the Fitchburg School Committee and the Fitchburg Education Association (FEA).
