The Assistant Controller will assist in managing accounting functions, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. The Assistant Controller also provides guidance to the accounting team and helps maintain the integrity of financial data and systems. The ideal candidate will be a licensed CPA with strong technical accounting knowledge and leadership abilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial data and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Support internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to inquiries.
  • Help develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff; help with training and development.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting and operational needs.
  • Prepare tax filings and ensure timely payment of all required taxes in coordination with external advisors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3+ years in a supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft D365 is a plus).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
