FZ is looking for a Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Intern for the Grand Rapids, MI office to join our 2026 Summer Intern program. Our interns will be responsible for supporting their assigned department on day-to-day duties as well as working on an assigned project for the duration of this 14-week internship. The internship will also include developmental opportunities such as visiting construction jobsites to learn more about FZs business, networking opportunities, a training session to familiarize themselves with their own personal workstyle as well as how to work better with others, taking part in National Intern Day and much more!

Areas of focus during the internship :
Contribute to VDC efforts using tools such as Revit and Navisworks, with a focus on understanding the purpose and methodology behind model developmentParticipate in jobsite visits to observe laser scanning, total station layout (shooting points), and how point cloud data and coordinates are integrated into BIM models to support field installationCollaborate with field teams including foremen, superintendents, and crew members to ensure virtual models accurately reflect real-world conditions and installationsSupport the VDC team by maintaining and managing project data, participating in team meetings, and assisting with documentation and administrative tasksKey Qualifications :
Enrolled in a bachelors degree program and is pursuing a degree in Applied Sciences for Drafting and Design, Architectural Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field incoming Junior or Senior status for Fall 26 semester - preferredAbility to work in-office 40 hours per week from May-August 26 - requiredStrong communication and interpersonal skillsBaseline experience with Revit & NavisworksProficient in MS OfficeCandidates are required to take a pre-employment drug screen.
