Avionics Systems Engineering Intern

If you are looking for the opportunity to start a career in avionics systems engineering, this position is perfect for you! You will learn how to design complex avionics systems for leading aircraft manufacturers while joining a collaborative team focused on skill growth and development! As an intern you will be given professional engineering job responsibilities immediately and will have the opportunity to make an impact!

What You Will Do :

  • Determines full avionics system requirements for avionics systems;
  • Develops system design documentation such as interface control definitions, hardware interconnect definitions, and human machine interface documentation;
  • Develops and executes verification procedures for laboratory testing of avionics;
  • Ensures compliance to applicable certification regulations;
  • Ability to travel required, but this would be less than 10% of time.

What You Will Learn :

  • Planning and tracking work in engineering tools (Jira, Confluence, JAMA, etc.);
  • Ability to write requirements, develop design documentation, and verify requirements;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with large multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Qualifications You Must Have :

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Qualifications We Prefer :

  • Past aviation experience (such as being a pilot or aircraft maintainer);
  • Personal project experience related to building or working with complex systems;
  • Experience with technical writing such as undergraduate research papers.
  • Previous project leadership and communication / coordination roles.
