Job Description

The Skunk Works is looking for a software engineer to be part of a team building air vehicle systems. The candidate will use existing and developing skills in a variety of software programming languages and tools, such as C, C++, Python, XML, Visual Studio, Eclipse, and VxWorks. Candidate may build software for air vehicle systems, ground systems, and / or modeling and simulation systems that support production and research and development.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree or above from an accredited college in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

Experience programming in at least one computer programming language (e.g. C, C++, Python, or Java)

Must be a US citizen.

Desired skills

Demonstrated experience with the following :

• Development of real-time systems or use of real-time operating systems (RTOS), such as Wind River VxWorks or Green Hills Integrity
• The software development process in a team environment (peer reviews, unit testing, configuration management, defect tracking)
• Integrating hardware and software
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between software, hardware, and systems engineering.
• Experience working in DevSecOps CI / CD pipelines
• Experience with configuration management tools like Gitlab / Github
• Experience working on an agile software team
• Experience working in a Linux environment
• Experience with MBSE (Tools like Cameo, modeling standards such as UML, UAF, SysML, etc.)
• Ability to build and maintain relationships, collaborate with others, engage in constructive conflict, and manage interpersonal dynamics
• Strong decision making and judgment
• Oral and written communication skills

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate : The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $113,900 - $200,905. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees : accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate : The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $131,000 - $227,125. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
