Quality Assurance Specialist - COSMOS

Support the Contract for Organizing Spaceflight Mission Operations and Systems (COSMOS) contract. COSMOS specifies technical, managerial, and administrative work needed to ensure the availability, integrity, reliability, and security of the Flight Operations Directorates (FOD) Mission Systems supporting National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) space flight programs requiring mission operations support.

For this contract, "Mission Systems" is defined as the systems and subsystems of integrated hardware, software, networks, telecommunications, data, displays, and mockups used in the preparation for and performance of mission operations.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop, apply, revise, and maintain quality standards for in process and final inspection.
  • Perform receiving inspection on pre-manufacturing stock, test articles, and test support equipment.
  • Perform dimensional and physical inspection on precision measuring equipment.
  • Witness Mandatory Inspection Points.
  • Document nondestructive evaluation inspections for flight and flight-like hardware.
  • Document discrepancies for facilities and hardware.
  • Witness assembly of hardware and facility / test buildup, verify technician workmanship, and witness test build-up configuration and tests.
  • Verify contamination control requirements.
  • Accurately read engineering drawings.
  • Adhere to all published safety procedures.

Qualifications :

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education + experience
  • Must have at least 10 years of experience in process control and laboratory operation
  • Desired :

    Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.     The proposed salary range for this position is : $63,300 - $129,700 USD
