GDIT is seeking a Telecommunications Engineer Basic to help support the DLA LAN Support program in Columbus OH. Selected candidate will provide full-time on-site support. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT : As a Telecommunications Engineer Basic for our LAN Support program, you will be working on-site. You will be responsible for the tasks assigned to you by work orders, incidents, change requests, or other work requests to complete assigned tasks.
- Implement of the standardization of NIPR and SIPR networks.
- Configuring and deploying devices in accordance with DLA LAN standards.
- Providing technical support for enterprise-wide LAN technology refreshes and upgrades.
- Completing site surveys to determine or confirm deployment requirements and facility limitations.
- Draft, maintain, and implement installation and technical design plans.
- Develop and submit ECRs, ITRs, NSO requests, after action reports, as-built diagrams, test plans, and test reports, weekly activity reports.
- Installation, testing, configuring, and transitioning to sustainment of DLA network equipment.
- Complete work in accordance with assigned Work Orders and Incidents as well as approved CR activities and tasks.
- Works under general supervision, developing the requirements of a product from inception to conclusion.
- Develop required specifications for simple to moderately complex problems.
- Coordinates with the Vendor PM, COTRs, and government user representatives to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction on technical matters.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED (REQUIRED) : Clearance : Active Secret required. Must be able to obtain a T5 Background clearance once hired. Certifications : DoD IAT II Compliant Certification (i.e. CompTIA Sec+, CASP, CISSP, etc.) plus an additional active Cisco computing environment certification (CCNA, CCNP or CCIE). Education : High School Diploma. Experience : Minimum of 2 years’ network operations experience required. Skills & Abilities :
Experience in managing the evaluation and cost estimation of voice and data LAN services from telecommunications carriers, designing access and backbone networks using carrier services, or in managing the analysis and design of wireless voice or data networks (using private radio facilities or commercial services).Providing technical support for enterprise-wide LAN technology refreshes and upgrades.Provides technical and administrative direction for personnel responsible for telecommunications network design, implementation, and operations tasks, including the review of work products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and to user standards and progress in accordance with schedules. Makes recommendations, if needed, for approval of major network installations. Prepares milestone status reports, and deliveries / presentations on network progress to colleagues, subordinates, and end user representatives.Must take applicable DLA and Host Activity site-specific safety training post hire.Must complete OSHA compliant Aerial Lift Training for use of Aerial Lifts post hire.GDIT IS YOUR PLACE :
