Staff Engineer, Ads Engineering

As the Staff Engineer with the Retail Media Network Ad Engineering you will lead the technical development and technical strategy of the companys self-service ad platform. This role is responsible for collaborating closely with product marketing data science and external partners to build and optimize a robust scalable and innovative ad platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ad technology programmatic advertising with the ability to drive technical initiatives in a fast-paced dynamic environment. You will be a technical leader across multiple products or systems and recognized as an expert and thought leader in this area as well considered a mentor and teacher across squads with the ability to influence outside their direct teams.

This role is hybrid which means you will work some days on site at a Best Buy location and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process. For this role you must be located within a drivable distance to our office in Richfield Minnesota.

What youll do

• Influence and communicate architectural decisions across multiple systems balancing technical analytical and product considerations
• Solve complex engineering challenges including debugging triaging incident response and reverse-engineering
• Identify and recommend improvements in the SDLC support reliability and monitoring through tools and standards
• Maintain high standards of system quality performance and reliability ensuring robust custom-built solutions
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies applying best practices to enhance platform capabilities
• Build and nurture strong technical and business relationships expanding influence across teams and peers
