Position Summary
The Quality Control Manager oversees all aspects of quality assurance and food safety at the manufacturing plant in Topeka, KS. This role involves managing the QA laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with quality policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
The manager has the authority to stop production processes if product quality or food safety is compromised. They are responsible for evaluating and managing the disposition of ingredients, materials, and finished goods in line with corporate guidelines. Additionally, the manager provides technical support to plant operations and contributes to quality systems, training programs, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards, including regulatory requirements.
Manage ingredient conformance through supplier approval, audits, and testing.
Lead quality improvement efforts focusing on key metrics like RFT, consumer complaints, and audit scores.
Oversee food safety systems such as HACCP, pest control, sanitation, and housekeeping.
Provide technical support to operations and participate in plant projects.
Approve new product and process launches.
Conduct performance evaluations and support the development of direct reports.
