Minimum Qualifications

Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education / experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D in relevant discipline and 10 + years experience.

Position Summary

This is a highly responsible technical position which reports to the SREL Director and requires experience with experimental design, implementation, data collection, data analysis, and publication elements of research in radiochemistry. This individual will be expected to contribute to faculty led proposals for grants and contracts to fund research in radiochemistry and to use funds funding from successful grants and contracts to support their salary needs. This position will also be expected to contribute to scholarly activities in the form of written reports and scientific publications. Finally, this position will be expected to participate in mentoring of junior faculty in the discipline of biochemistry and to serve as a committee member for graduate students as appropriate.

Knowledge and experience in the field of biochemistry.

Grant Development & Strategic Funding :

Assist with the development and submission of funding proposals to support ongoing and future research activities and salary needs for this position. Manage awarded budgets with SREL's administrative staff to ensure appropriate allocation of effort and resources.

Research Implementation & Oversight :

Lead and participate in the writing of scientific publications and creation of scientific presentations. Supervise research staff and students engaged in data collection, sample processing, and quality assurance.

Scientific Writing & Dissemination :

Plan and implement experiments that generate data to be analyzed for publications. Develop and deliver presentations as needed.

Graduate & Academic Service :

Serve, as appropriate, as a member of advisory committees for graduate students working for other SREL faculty and collaborators at other universities. Contribute to graduate education and student development through mentorship and leadership.
